INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION

Instructor, Sgt. Bob Shaffer has been a police officer and sergeant for over 21 years at the Loveland Police Department in Loveland, Colorado.  During his career he has spent extensive time in the field and in the role of Personnel Sergeant, responsible for hiring and recruitment of police personnel as well as conducting and supervising the 10-man Background Investigation Unit where LSAT has been found to be an invaluable asset in detecting deception in applicants’ resumes, background information and employment applications.

Sgt. Shaffer has completed over 100 hours of basic, advanced, and advanced mentoring instruction from the originator of the modern statement analysis technique.  He has been providing top-quality classroom training in statement analysis since 1997 throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Over the course of the last decade, he has provided countless successful, professional analyses for law enforcement and private investigation agencies across the country.  Sgt. Shaffer provides LSAT training on a regular basis through host agencies throughout the United States. 

Bob earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1981 and has taken many language-based, university level courses since that time.  Additionally, he has taught law enforcement related topics extensively in local Colorado police academy programs and been featured as a guest speaker and numerous professional investigation conventions in the United States.
